LDAF Level 4 award
The level 4 LDAF award is the
Higher Professional Diploma (HPD) in Learning Disability Services.
This award is a natural progression from the level 2 and 3 awards, although its format is slightly different.
There are two pathways to follow within the Level 4 Award
Managing Learning Disability Services and
Senior Practitioner in Learning Disability Services
Who is it for?
The Higher Professional Diploma is designed to shape learning and assessment of knowledge for those working, or planning to work, in senior roles within learning disability services. The award is relevant to a range of settings including supported living, residential care, respite care, day services and allied roles such as advocacy services.
The Higher Professional Diploma can be used in many ways:
for personal development, learning about particular aspects of the job role
to gain a qualification at a higher level in the specialist area of learning disability work
for career progression, preparing to move into new roles
to support the achievement of S/NVQs
to promote access to other career qualifications
to move into higher education – the full HPD award is equivalent to 120 Higher Education CATS points at Year 1
